8th IVETA All Africa Regional Conference
The government of Namibia through its Ministry of Education and the Namibia Training Authority will be hosting the 8th IVETA All Africa Regional Conference in its coastal town, Swakopmund, from the 18th - 21st April 2010, at the Swakopmund Hotel and Entertainment Centre.
The conference Skills for the Future will bring together national, regional and international VET experts for 3 days of workshops, interaction and information sharing while enjoying the hospitality and uniqueness of Namibia.
VET experts from Australia, New Zealand, Europe, and Canada will join regional experts and practitioners to discuss the three major themes of the conference, Working with Industry, Assessment and Teaching and Learning. These are critical issues for VET that in a changing world are becoming more and more important. Each day will start with an expert keynote speaker and be followed by a series of content focussed short papers that present real examples that highlight the issues. Participants will then have the opportunity to discuss and share feedback on the speeches with each other in facilitated group work sessions. Every afternoon Namibian and regional case studies will be presented. There will be an introductory opening ceremony on Sunday 18th followed by 3 full conference days winding up with a panel session. A conference gala dinner will be held on Tuesday 20th of April 2010 as well a series of both recreational and educational activities will conclude the conference.
This will be participatory conference where the experiences, from the region and around the world related to the changing focus of VET, will showcase best practise, new thinking and practical solutions; all of which can contribute to poverty alleviation in Namibia, the region and internationally.
Conference Fee:
•Registration: N$3 500.00 - from the 2nd of March until 18 April 2010
•Early Bird: N$3 000.00 - until the 1st of March 2010
•N$2 500.00 Group fee per participant - three or more people from the same institution
